Why Do The Rear Lights Of The Car Automatically Light Up At Night

Mar 03, 2021

The tail light that lights up automatically is the position light (also called the width indicator light). Vehicles with automatic taillights are not seen, usually because the car is equipped with an automatic headlight function, that is, when the on-board sensor senses that the ambient light is dimmed, it will automatically turn on the low beam, and the taillights will automatically light up.

There is also a very rare situation. Some vehicles equipped with daytime running lights will automatically light up the rear taillights when the daytime running lights are on. In this case, the rear taillights of the vehicle are also lit even during the day. Vehicles with this design are very rare.

There are usually small lights (width indicator lights or night lights), license plate lights, turn signals, reversing lights, brake lights, high-position brake lights (fog lights), etc., at the rear of car-related information.

1. The small lights and license plate lights are turned on at the same time. When the night lights and headlights are turned on, they will light up;

2. The turn signal is that when the turn signal switch is turned to one side, this side lights up and flashes (usually with the direction back to the right and automatically resets and goes out), when the double jump switch (emergency switch marked with a red triangle) is turned on, both sides turn to lights at the same time Light up and flash;

3. The reversing light is on when the reverse gear is engaged;

4. The brake lights and high-position brake lights are on when the brake is stepped on;

5. The high-position brake light is integrated with the rear fog light. It lights up when the anti-fog light switch is turned on, and the brightness of the light increases when the brake is stepped on.
