The Lexus Spindle Grille Is Changing

Sep 02, 2022

Lexus's spindle grille is undergoing a revolution, first introducing the LF-Gh concept in 2011 and then in the second year of the fourth-generation GS sedan. Over the past decade, the shape and size of the grille has been adjusted, but it is still eye-catching and unique.

With the launch of the all-electric Lexus RZ 450E, a car without the traditional grille, the Lexus has a new spindle. The overall shape of the spindle is familiar, but it is no longer a grille, but a continuation of the body, extending down from the hood and finished in the car's body color. What makes the spindle stand out is the black design element on either side and a small black lower grille.

The new Lexus RX also features a unique take-off spindle mechanism. It also flows seamlessly to the upper part of the body and functions at the lower edge of the bonnet, while the lower part of the movement retains a more traditional grid pattern.
